Doctor means "teacher." And Dr. Helene Hubbard is both.
For nearly 20 years, she taught everything from baby "classes" at church to elementary and middle school – to graduate courses for teachers in gifted education, reading and math methods. (Ph.D., Educational Psychology, University of Georgia)
For nearly 20 years, she has been a physician. Initially she practiced general pediatrics; in 1996 Dr. Hubbard joined the faculty at University of South Florida as a developmental-behavioral pediatrician. She was one of the first in the nation to be board certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (a new sub-specialty.)
In 2003, Dr. Hubbard opened her own practice – with her partner, Karen MacDougall, MA, RN (developmental nurse specialist and experienced child and family therapist.)

We welcome children of all ages, birth - teens. Our most popular service is our Developmental-Behavioral Pediatric Evaluation. We review your child's records from birth to the present, study information from extensive questionnaires, perform a comprehensive physical examination, conduct an interactive play-based diagnostic interview and visit with you to discover more about your observations and concerns.
THEN, we put all the pieces together to give you a complete report of our findings (usually five or more significant diagnoses.) TOGETHER, your family and our team develop an action plan addressing each area of your child's life as it relates to your child's diagnoses. We help you implement your plan at your own pace and in the sequence you choose.
Because we specialize in the whole child, we are interested in everything – nutrition, sleep, healthy emotional climate, exercise/recreation, academics, play therapy, family and/or individual counseling, social skills, relationship building, physical fitness, mental health, medication when indicated -- and all the rest. We cooperate with your pediatrician in a wide variety of treatment modalities. K&H HealthKare is dedicated to helping your child become a well-rounded successful individual.
